Support of the tendering process for a digital personnel file

The company: Basler Verkehrsbetriebe (BVB)

The Basler Verkehrsbetriebe (BVB) transport more than 300,000 passengers every day. On nine tram lines, 85 trams and 116 buses operate on 14 bus routes. More than 1,300 BVB employees ensure smooth operations 365 days a year. Founded in 1895, BVB is the largest partner in the tariff association Tarifverbund Nordwestschweiz (TNW) and operates over 231 kilometres of tram and bus routes in the city of Basel and the surrounding area.

The project: Call for tender for the digitisation of personnel files

As part of a wide range of digitisation projects, BVB decided to digitise its HR processes. One initiative was to manage the analogue personnel files of more than 1,300 employees with the help of a software solution and to migrate the existing files into the digital world. Banian supported BVB in this project by preparing the concrete tender documents and by contributing its expertise in software procurement and digital business processes.

The challenges: Existing processes | requirements management
All of BVB's existing processes and documentation had to be taken into account when creating the documents, and other relevant aspects had to be added. The requirements had to be critically discussed in several iterations and translated into a specification. 

The solution: fully prepared tender documents
Banian worked with all the relevant departments at BVB to produce crucial tender documents. This included aspects of IT architecture, IT security, functional requirements, workflow management, data storage and migration.

The goals achieved: Successful award of a procurement contract
