The cantonal administration consists of five directorates, the State Chancellery and the courts and employs around 6,000 people who work around the clock to serve the people and businesses of Basel-Landschaft.

The project: Handling Covid hardship applications

In connection with the hardship measures of the federal government during the Corona pandemic, we developed the emergency portal for the canton of Basel-Landschaft together with our partner Taktwerk. Banian was responsible for the technical project management and conception of the solution and ensured that the implementation, testing and deployment went perfectly.

The challenges: Time and many stakeholders

A portal for coordinating the more than 2,200 hardship applications from the Canton of Basel-Landschaft had to be created as quickly as possible, and it had to meet the requirements of both the federal government and the Canton of Basel-Landschaft as soon as the respective ordinances were passed. The web platform should be as easy to use as possible for applicants, companies based in the Canton of Basel-Landschaft, but also for auditors, banks and representatives of the Canton of Basel-Landschaft.

The solution: Intuitive and user-friendly web portal

Using an agile development process, we developed a web platform that made the processing of applications much more efficient with the help of workflows, forms and mailings. The design of the portal was conceived and developed using BPMN 2.0, data architectures and mockups. The process was supported by Azure DevOps through all steps up to test case documentation and execution.
