Development of a data strategy

The company:
ToaRe Europe is a Swiss licensed reinsurance company providing reinsurance capacity to insurers and brokers in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

The project: Development of a data strategy
Based on an existing overall corporate strategy, a strategy for handling data at Toa Re Europe was developed. Using the Banian Data Strategy Framework, three concrete measures were identified and launched for implementation. In this process, we provided the structuring, leadership and execution of the strategy development and supported the launch of the concrete measures.

The challenge: Common understanding of data
In order to successfully implement a data strategy, we first had to create a common understanding of data and data usage based on different maturity levels. Furthermore, the organization and roles had to be further sharpened and developed.

• Definition of an overarching data vision and mission 
• Comprehensive inventory of processes, organization and system architecture
• Identification of 88 optimization opportunities
• Development of possible solutions to the optimization opportunities 
• Joint evaluation and prioritization of optimization opportunities
• Development of possible scenarios for the application landscape
• Development of a binding, concrete implementation plan
